The students of Institute of Management studies, Banaras Hindu University have again proved their worth. All the students have been recruited by various esteemed organizations across India and abroad reinforcing the strong academic culture of the Faculty. Coordinated efforts of the Faculty were reflected in the Campus placements of the management graduates of the faculty. The outreach of the faculty at the corporate world expanded. Placement in the previous sessions witnessed participation of regular recruiters aptly complemented by a plethora of new entrants.
FMS is proud to add Pioneer financial institution of India Reserve Bank of India in its list of campus recruiters in the recent past. Our students managed to bag international offers from different organizations including research & consulting firm iCRM.
The profiles offered varied in their diversity, encompassing Corporate Finance, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Business Consulting, IT consulting, Agri-Business, Industrial Relations and Corporate HR. Most importantly, the faculty also incorporated the students from various other faculties in the university viz. MPMIR, M.Sc. Agri & Master of Financial Management for arranging campus placements. We have also extended our facility and hosted campus placement for students from other institutions outside BHU. In association with Students' Council, BHU, we have organized bulk Placements for IBM Daksh for the entire University, jointly with the University Placement Coordination Cell and Students Council. The outstanding achievements in Campus placements are in line with the top rating of the Faculty as reflected in reputed B-School surveys conducted in the recent past.
Many recruiters visited FMS-BHU in the past including corporate giants like Infosys, Coal India, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Pantaloon, Visa Steel, FINO, Ansal API to name a few. Maximum package offerred to our students touched a ceiling of 15 lakh and average package shot up from about 6 lakhs to 7 lakhs. The faculty which recorded a campus placement of 90 per cent last year where 90 students got 70 job offers has registered a significant jump in the current academic session and the number of offers went up to 120 for 102 students.
An eight-week practical training during May-June is an integral part of our course curriculum. Students are deputed for the training after the completion of their II Sem. Examinations to reputed business/ industrial houses where they are supposed to work on a problem oriented project and after completion of the training students are required to submit a report on the work done and the experienced gained during the training.
